Bournemouth Tops List of Most Accessible Premier League Stadiums

0

Handicare, in partnership with Age Co, has conducted a comprehensive study evaluating the accessibility of all the Premier League stadiums for the 2023/24 season. The findings reveal:

  • Bournemouth boasts the most accessible Premier League stadium.
  • Following closely are the stadiums of Liverpool, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Chelsea, making up the top four most accessible stadiums.
  • Surprisingly, only Bournemouth offers more than 1% of wheelchair seats per its stadium’s capacity.
  • Despite having the second-smallest stadium, Bournemouth has the highest number of wheelchair seats compared to other clubs.
  • Shockingly, 13 out of 20 clubs provide less than 0.5% of wheelchair seats per stadium capacity.
  • Luton’s Kenilworth Road Stadium ranked at the bottom of the list in terms of accessibility.

Derbyshire Eco Furniture Business Preserves Memories with Innovative Memorial Benches

An award-winning Derbyshire sustainable furniture business, known for creating outdoor furniture from recycled plastic, is introducing an innovative digital platform for memorial benches called ‘My Place and Story’.

TDP Ltd, based in Wirksworth, recently received the prestigious King’s Award for Sustainable Development. With ‘My Place and Story,’ they offer a unique way for those purchasing their commemorative benches to add a QR code. When someone sits on the bench and scans the code with their phone, they can access the life story of the person being commemorated.

The QR code can also be used to record information about the place where a bench has been situated, with one of the first examples being Shipley Country Park in Derbyshire.

One of the first life stories commemorated on their benches is that of former Welsh international rugby player Brian Davies, whose bench is located outside the rugby clubhouse at Pentrych near Cardiff. Passersby can now learn about Brian’s life and the significance of his memorial bench through the QR code.

TDP’s benches are made from 100% British recycled plastic, in line with the company’s commitment to sustainability. Each order comes with a certificate detailing the amount of plastic saved from oceans and the reduction in CO2 emissions.

Dale Commemorative bench, for example, contains recycled waste from 36,985 plastic bottle tops, stopping 1.49 cubic metres of plastic from going into landfill. Environmentally speaking, the saving is the equivalent of a 975 mile car journey – around the distance from London to Florence in Italy.

Rob, one of the company’s owners, emphasised the importance of creating lasting memories with their furniture. The unique digital platform ensures that these memories will endure for generations to come, contributing to cultural history.

Rob also highlighted that using recycled plastic not only produces long-lasting, durable furniture but also helps preserve the stories of people’s lives.

Pep ‘comfortable’ despite Manchester City defeat at Newcastle

Manchester City may have suffered an early exit from the EFL Cup, but boss Pep Guardiola was “comfortable” with his side’s performance at Newcastle.

The hosts had to defend for long periods, particularly in a first half dominated by City, before striker Alexander Isak netted the only goal in the 53rd minute to send Newcastle through.

Guardiola, however, was full of praise for his side despite venting his frustration at the officials at the full-time whistle.

He said: “We played an incredible game. It was a tight game and the players who played, played really good. It is football. Congratulations to Newcastle.”

On what was no doubt a long coach journey home for the City boss, who had made his feelings very clear about his side not being able to fly to Newcastle, there were still a few positives to take away from the match.

“I leave comfortable with how we played, no injuries, and minutes for Mateo [Kovacic] and Jack [Grealish].”

For Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, the result meant that he finally secured his first victory over Guardiola, and he applauded his side’s efforts and belief to win the tie.

He said: “Second half, we were excellent in most aspects, defensive and offensively. We attacked well and probably deserved to win.

“There were tactical changes, but the biggest thing was belief.”

The fourth-round draw took place after the match, which saw the Magpies handed another difficult tie and a rematch of last year’s final as they head to Old Trafford to play Manchester United.

Calculating ROI for Warehouse Management Software: A Comprehensive Guide

In the ever-evolving landscape of modern business, efficient warehouse management has become a cornerstone of success. With the rise of e-commerce and global supply chains, companies are under increasing pressure to streamline their operations and maximise efficiency; thus, effective Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) are critical for both competitiveness and survival. This comprehensive guide will delve into the complexities of calculating ROI for WMS, helping you make an informed decision for your business.

Understanding Warehouse Management Software (WMS)

Before delving into ROI calculations, it is vital to establish a clear understanding of what Warehouse Management Software actually is.

A WMS is a specialised software system designed to optimise and automate a variety of warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfilment, packing, shipping, and more. It acts as the central command centre of any warehouse, ensuring a seamless coordination among different processes with the ultimate aim of reducing manual errors and increasing efficiency.

1. Identify the key benefits

To accurately calculate ROI, you must identify the benefits a WMS will bring to your organisation. Here are some of the key advantages:

It dramatically enhances inventory accuracy by maintaining precise inventory records, mitigating the risks associated with overstocking and stock shortages.
It boosts labour efficiency through automation and streamlined workflows, reducing labour costs and heightening productivity.
WMS minimises errors in packing and shipping, thereby boosting order accuracy, which, in turn, enhances customer satisfaction and minimises returns.
WMS facilitates space optimisation, as improved inventory management often reduces storage space requirements, allowing for savings on real estate costs.
It provides an improved insight into warehouse operations by offering real-time data and analytics, enabling data-driven decision-making.
WMS solutions are scalable and can grow with your business, reducing the need for frequent software upgrades.
2. Determine the Costs

To calculate ROI, you must identify all the costs of implementing and maintaining a WMS. These typically include:

Software Licence Fees: The initial expense of purchasing or licensing the WMS software.
Implementation Costs: Expenses related to setting up the software, including hardware, training, and consulting fees.
Maintenance and Support: Ongoing costs for software updates, technical support, and system maintenance.
Integration Costs: If the WMS needs to be integrated with existing systems, factor in integration expenses.
Operational Costs: Costs associated with running the WMS, such as electricity, internet, and additional skilled personnel.
Change Management: Expenses for training employees and managing the transition to the new system.
3. Consider the Time Frame

Determine the time frame over which you want to calculate the ROI. While the benefits may continue long-term, it’s typical to use a 1 to 3-year time frame for ROI calculations. The choice of time frame should align with your organisation’s vision and strategic plans.

4. Calculate the ROI

You should now calculate your ROI using the formula below.

To calculate net benefits, you must subtract the total costs from the total benefits over the chosen time frame. Then, divide this figure by the total costs and multiply by 100 to express the ROI as a percentage.

5. Consider the Intangible Benefits and Risks

While ROI calculations typically focus on tangible benefits and costs, remember to consider the intangible factors. Improved customer satisfaction, enhanced brand reputation, and increased competitive advantage are harder to quantify but can significantly impact your business and, thus, should be influential factors in WMS investment decisions. In addition, WMS implementation, like every investment, carries an element of risk, so factoring in a risk mitigation plan can provide a more realistic ROI estimate.

6. Evaluate and Review

ROI calculations are not fixed. Revisiting your calculations periodically and adjusting them based on valid results is essential to WMS implementation success, as this will help you to make informed decisions about the continued use of your WMS.

In summary, calculating the ROI for Warehouse Management Software is crucial in justifying the investment and ensuring its appropriate implementation and long-term success within your organisation. By identifying the costs, benefits and considering intangibles and risks, you can make a well-informed de

Online Free Valuation Service Turns a Tidy Profit: Driver Gains £9k More on Private Number Plate

0

A vehicle owner has significantly boosted his earnings by a substantial £9,000, thanks to the utilisation of a cost-free private number plate valuation service online. Initially expecting just £5,000 for his registration plate, he approached Platehunter, a specialist in private number plate transactions, for an assessment.

The plate’s value was appraised at almost double the initial expectation. Consequently, Platehunter promptly secured a buyer and finalised a sale at £14,000 within a mere week. This transaction yielded pure profit for the car owner who acquired the plate incidentally with the purchase of a Jaguar XK140 back in 1950.

Jon Kirkbright, Sales Director at Platehunter, brings over a decade of proficiency in trading registration plates to the table. Commenting on the remarkable sale, he shared, “We were surprised that the customer was asking for so little for the registration plate, and we are delighted we were almost able to triple the price for him.”

Jon champions the acquisition of private plates as lucrative assets, often promising substantial returns, as evidenced by this transaction. “In my experience, I have found that private number plates should double in value every three to five years. This is why I say that buying a private plate is a lucrative investment opportunity. People are often looking for proof of increased value and good investment, and this is it. Some people may not be aware this is the case, and try to sell their plate for the same price they purchased it for many years ago – this is why we offer our free valuation service. We want customers to get the best price for their plates.” he explained.

Customers interested in a quote can visit Platehunter’s website and submit their registration and contact details to receive a professional valuation. If a decision to sell is made and a price is mutually agreed upon, Platehunter offers complimentary advertisement of the plate on their platform.

They manage the entire transaction process, minimising seller involvement and handling all administrative aspects, including transfer paperwork. “Our number plate valuations service is here to help you find the best price for your personalised private plates. We are professionals and we ensure that we take all the stress out of the transaction for both the seller and the buyer. This service includes handling the transfer paperwork and administration requirements.” Jon added.

Platehunter prides itself on leveraging extensive experience to advise clients on the nuances of private plate transactions, and Jon encourages all potential sellers to avail themselves of the free valuation service to maximise their returns.

For more information or help with purchasing a private number plate – or selling one – visit PlateHunter. Alternatively, you could follow and contact them on InstagramTwitter or Facebook.

These intriguing finds will soon be showcased in an in-house museum at the hotel’s basement, giving guests an immersive experience of Middlesbrough’s rich past.

Samuel And Co Trading’s Financial Trading Diploma: A Solution to the Rising Problem of Financial Illiteracy

In today’s fast-evolving financial landscape, a significant challenge looms large: financial illiteracy. With the growing popularity of trading, many individuals are plunging headfirst into the financial markets without a safety net of knowledge. Samuel and Co Trading have recognised this issue and taken a bold step by offering an Ofqual-regulated financial trading diploma program. It addresses the problem of financial illiteracy directly, one student at a time.

The Issue of Financial Illiteracy

Recent studies on financial literacy in the United Kingdom paint a concerning picture. Nearly half of UK adults—approximately 48%—display signs of financial vulnerability. This vulnerability manifests as a lack of confidence in managing money, financial struggles, or a complete absence of savings and investments. To compound the issue, only 38% of adults feel confident about their understanding of financial matters.

The Cost of Conventional Education

In the world of higher education, a master’s degree is often regarded as the gold standard. However, pursuing a master’s degree comes with a substantial price tag, averaging around £10,000 to £15,000 per year, not to mention the time it takes—typically two years. This means that by the time you earn your degree, you’ve invested both a significant sum of money and several years of your life.

A Cost-Effective Alternative: Samuel and Co Trading’s Level 7 Diploma In Financial Trading

Enter Samuel and Co Trading’s Level 5 & 7 Diploma in Financial Trading—a cost-effective and time-efficient solution to the issue of financial illiteracy. Priced at just £3,200 – £3,500, this diploma offers a comprehensive education that rivals the quality of traditional master’s degrees.

Redefining Education:

Samuel and Co Trading’s diploma program is tailored for individuals aged 16 and above who aspire to build careers around finance. It provides a minimum of 32 credits and involves 270 guided learning hours. The curriculum covers a broad spectrum of topics, including financial market forces, asset classes, trading strategies, and risk management, among others.

Real-World Experience:

One standout feature of this diploma is its emphasis on practical learning. Students engage in real-world trading experiences, maintain portfolios, and receive personal mentoring from seasoned traders. This hands-on approach ensures that graduates are not just theoretically equipped but ready to navigate the financial markets with hands on experience.

Enhancing Career Prospects:

Furthermore, the Level 5 & 7 Diploma’s Ofqual regulation ensures that the qualification is recognised by educational institutions and various employers. It’s not merely a certificate; it’s a stepping stone to diverse financial roles, such as trading, sales, settlements, compliance, cryptocurrencies, and risk management.

Cost-Effective and Time-Saving:

Comparing the cost and duration of traditional master’s degrees to Samuel and Co Trading’s diplomas is eye-opening. While a master’s degree can set you back tens of thousands of pounds and consume two years of your life, the Level 5 Diploma comes at just £3,200 and spans a mere 12 weeks and the Level 7 Diploma lasts 6 weeks. It’s a straightforward solution that saves both time and money.

Conclusion: Empowering Through Education

In conclusion, Samuel and Co Trading’s Ofqual-regulated financial trading diploma program is more than just an educational offering; it’s a remedy for the escalating issue of financial illiteracy. It equips individuals with valuable qualifications, enhancing their career prospects and deepening their understanding of financial markets.

By providing an affordable and time-efficient alternative to traditional education, Samuel and Co Trading are tackling financial illiteracy head-on. In an era where knowledge is power, this diploma program is not only transforming individuals into knowledgeable traders but also revolutionising the way we think about financial education.
