The Advantages of Self-Storage Facilities in Dubai

Storage facilities are an important part of our lives. These days people indeed tend to live in big apartments and houses, yet most of us have more things than we need. Therefore, a storage facility near you is always helpful as it allows you to keep your belongings safe and organised.

In Dubai, many self-storage facilities can meet the needs of its residents for both short-term and long-term use. This means whether you want to store some extra stuff or move from one place to another, a self-storage company will always be willing to help you out!

Whether you are looking for short-term or long-term storage facilities in Dubai there is no doubt that Dubai has some of the best self-storage facilities in the world. So why wait? Visit one of these companies today and see how they can help you get organised!

Self-storage is an important part of many companies’ overall operations. This is because many businesses have to store their equipment or supplies in these facilities. Several advantages come with self-storage units, most notably:

Space Management – Businesses need plenty of room for storing all products and equipment. However, taking up office space will compromise the office’s workflow and efficiency. Self-storage facilities allow you to store everything without occupying more space on your property. The only disadvantage is that you have to pay the rental fees on top of maintenance, which might be costly in certain areas.

Security – Storing your equipment and products at self-storage facilities also gives you peace of mind because the facility has security features to keep your items safe. This can include advanced security systems, 24/7 monitoring, and a variety of other measures that ensure your items are protected against theft, vandalism, and other threats.

Convenience – When storing large amounts of items or equipment, self-storage units provide a much more convenient solution than building more space on your property. You won’t have to worry about finding contractors or dealing with construction work when you can rent out a unit from a nearby facility that already offers ample storage space for everything you need.

Types of Self-Storage Facilities in Dubai

There are several different types of self-storage facilities in Dubai, each with advantages and disadvantages. The most common types include indoor, outdoor, climate-controlled, and drive-up units.

Indoor self-storage units are typically located inside a commercial building or warehouse and offer easy access for customers. These facilities often have security features such as video surveillance cameras and onsite staff to provide additional peace of mind for customers. Additionally, because these facilities are housed indoors, they tend to be more protected from weather conditions such as extreme heat or heavy rain. However, indoor self-storage facilities may also be subject to theft or vandalism due to their proximity to other businesses or people within the building.

Outdoor self-storage facilities are typically located outside and offer more space at a lower cost than indoor units. These facilities often have access gates and large outdoor spaces for storing vehicles, RVs, boats, or other bulky items. However, outdoor storage units can be more prone to damage from weather conditions such as extreme heat or heavy rain. Additionally, these facilities may not always have adequate security measures to protect customer’s belongings from theft or vandalism.

Climate-controlled self-storage units are designed to provide additional protection for valuable or temperature-sensitive items. These units typically maintain temperatures between 50 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit to help prevent damage caused by extreme heat or cold. While climate-controlled storage facilities may be more expensive than standard options, they offer extra peace of mind for customers who need to store temperature-sensitive items.

Drive-up self-storage units are designed to provide easy access for customers, with large roll-up doors and ample space outside each unit. These facilities typically have moving carts or dollies available for carrying belongings into the unit and may also have truck rental services onsite to help make your transition easier. However, drive-up storage units can be more expensive than other facilities and may only sometimes be close to major roadways or public transportation.

When choosing a self-storage facility in Dubai, it is important to consider all of these factors carefully to find the best option for your needs. Whether you need an indoor unit or a drive-up facility, there is sure to be a self-storage option that meets your requirements.

Tips to Keep in Mind When Renting a Self-Storage Unit in Dubai

When renting a self-storage unit, several factors can impact your decision, including size, cost, and amenities the facility offers. In addition, you should carefully consider security measures employed by each facility so you can feel secure about leaving your belongings behind.

Check out multiple facilities – The best way to get a good deal on your storage unit is to compare shops between multiple facilities. This will help you find the one that meets your needs at an affordable price without skimping security.

Evaluate the facility – Before signing a contract, check out the entire storage facility to see what amenities and services are offered. Additionally, take some time to evaluate the appearance of the building and surrounding area to ensure it meets your standards.

Compare prices and features – Before signing a contract, compare several self-storage units in Dubai to find one that best fits your budget and needs. Remember that other factors, such as unit size or climate control options, may also impact your decision beyond price.

Ask about security measures – Be sure to ask each facility about their security measures so that you can feel confident about leaving your belongings behind. This may include security cameras, onsite staff, or electric gates to restrict building access.

Ask about insurance – If your items are worth more than your security deposit, you may want to consider purchasing insurance to protect against damage caused by unforeseen circumstances. Be sure to ask each facility whether they offer rental insurance or if there are any other options available in the event of an accident.

Take inventory of your belongings – Before renting a storage unit in Dubai, take an inventory of all the belongings you will be stored to ensure adequate space for everything. Additionally, this will help you keep track of what is stored in each unit at any given time and make it easier for employees should the need arise.

Read local laws – In addition to being familiar with the terms of your rental contract, it is also important to be aware of any local laws regarding self-storage facilities to avoid any costly fines or legal complications.

In Closing

Renting a self-storage unit in Dubai is one of the best ways to store your belongings when moving safely or during remodelling projects, but several factors need to be considered to find the best option for your needs. Researching and carefully evaluating each facility can ensure a smooth transition and peace of mind while storing your belongings. However, if you need additional support along the way, don’t hesitate to contact us directly by phone or email for assistance choosing the right self-storage units in Dubai for your needs.

Security professionals warn Manchester businesses to improve cyber security to combat increasing cyber threats

The boards of medium-sized businesses in Manchester and the North West are being urged to improve cyber security to combat increasing cyber threats. The alarm call, from security specialists Digital Craftsmen, comes as cyber criminals are widening their focus to include not just large, listed enterprises but medium-sized firms too. Digital Craftsmen advise that every business is now at risk from a cyber-attack, emphasising that cyber criminals are not selective about who they target.

Many cybercriminals are now able to buy hacking software and stolen databases on the dark web for just a few hundred pounds, which gives them the tools to commit cybercrime, including data theft and ransomware attacks, without requiring any technical expertise.

Simon Wilcox, MD of Digital Craftsmen has led an expert round-up of the increasing risks of cybercrime for medium-sized businesses. Their assessment features in Cyber Trends a Sky Business programme. The programme is intended to help educate business leaders about the ransomware dangers they face and the critical actions they can take to protect their firms.

Simon is joined by leading cyber security experts , including Matt Middleton-Leal, MD (EMEA North) at Qualys; Paul Baird, UK Chief Technical Security Officer at Qualys; Barry Coatesworth, Director of Risk, Compliance & Security at Guidehouse, Brian Brackenborough Chief Information Security officer, Channel 4, and Paul Orrock, Technical Director, Digital Craftsmen.

Simon Wilcox advises: “The serious risks posed by cybercrime include ransomware attacks, in which criminals invade and occupy company systems and demand significant sums to release the system. One route is phishing activities, in which employees are tricked into revealing sensitive security details and company data. Other routes include malware and exploiting software vulnerabilities.”

Education and collaboration are key elements of the defence against cybercrime. Simon adds: “We see companies sharing data security insights and information, to enable higher levels of cyber security protection across their business sectors. They are protecting their own organisation and helping to protect their peers, which produces the wider effect of improved cyber security across the business community.”

He continues: “We believe in the principle of ‘a rising tide lifts all boats’ and the more the business community knows, the more it will raise their cyber security standards, and the greater the deterrent to opportunist cyber criminals.

“The purpose of the Sky TV programme is to advise businesses of the scale of cybercrime risks and the importance of businesses taking key steps to protect against cybercrime.”

Simon Wilcox provides a stark reminder of the failure to face up to cybercrime risks: “The consequences of cybercrime can be significant. In addition to substantial, perhaps crippling business disruption, boards need to consider the reputational impact of data losses.”

He continues: “Financially, there are also huge fines for businesses if they don’t properly secure or safeguard client data. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the EU’s data protection authorities can impose fines of up to €20 million, or 4% of worldwide turnover for the preceding financial year – whichever is higher.

“In addition, directors can be held personally liable for data breaches or other data protection failures in their business, with personal fines of up to five hundred thousand pounds.”

Simon concludes: “It’s simply a misconception by many business owners that cybercriminals are not interested in their commercial data and digital assets. They are increasingly a target, and forward-thinking Board members need to plan how to protect their business data and commercial future, rather than think they are not on the radar for cybercriminals.”

Six key steps that companies can take to protect against cybercrime.

Whilst it’s not entirely possible to eliminate the threat of ransomware, Paul Baird, UK Chief Technical Security Officer at Qualys takes the opportunity on the programme to advise that there are six key steps that companies can take to protect against cybercrime.

1. Organisations need to be aware of all their data assets and understand what they have on their network.

2. Firms need to think about vulnerability management across their systems, understanding where the vulnerabilities and misconfigurations in their systems lie.

3. Businesses need to prioritise the IT machines most important to their business and devise a clear plan for patching and protecting the most important machines, in priority order.

4. Patching their machines. Many organisations understand their vulnerabilities and what threats they face, but never get around to pushing those systems patches out to resolve vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.

5. Companies need to commit to anti-virus and endpoint detection response capabilities to stop or mitigate ransomware from ever getting onto their machines in the first place.

6. The simplest step is education and awareness, including teaching and continuously reminding staff about malicious links and malicious emails which can easily come into the business. This has been harder during the pandemic when people have moved away from the office, and there need to be constant reminders to be vigilant.

Construction firms’ thoughts on slashing diesel on sites sought

Construction companies are being asked for their views on an industry-wide plan to slash diesel use on building sites by more than three quarters within the next 13 years.

Since last year’s COP 26 contractors, plant firms, clients and trade bodies have been working with the Construction Leadership Council, CLC, on a draft zero diesel sites route map published this week.

Zero Diesel working group chair and HS2 environmental sciences head of Neil Wait said: “We are reminded of the commitment that our industry gave last year in Glasgow. Our promise was to work together to deliver a net-zero UK construction sector.

“We can only do that if we have a clear plan to eliminate the carbon emissions from our work. We can now test our proposals to dramatically reduce diesel use with industry and would encourage everyone to play their part in the consultation.”

The CLC said it was vital the plan was backed by those delivering change and that the consultation would give firms the chance to say how they can play a part and highlight any challenges.

Two-year target for removing diesel generators on site

Proposals in the draft include an industry fuel-saving tournament, developing hydrogen as an alternative fuel source and improving availability of grid connections to sites.

There’s also a target of construction firms reducing machine idling by 15 per cent, a checklist for transitioning to electric plus a catalogue of diesel-alternative plant and efficiency tools.

By 2025 the CLC wants all biofuels to be sustainably sourced and for 500 companies to remove diesel generators from their sites.

Construction firms have until midnight on 2nd of December to give their feedback on the draft Zero Diesel Sites Route Map, after which comments will be used to develop a final version.

There are an estimated 300,000 plus of mobile machinery used on construction sites with many requiring an on-site diesel fuelled generator.

Brokers Hank Zarihs Associates said development finance lenders would be keen to support SME builders investing in alternative power sources.

Coinciding with COP 27 the National House Building Council, NHBC, has produced a glossary to explain and standardise language associated with carbon and energy for the housebuilding industry.

NHBC standards, research and technical competency head Richard Smith said: “For years there’s been inconsistency, which is confusing for both developers and consumers – we want to end this and simplify the language used by everyone.”

The Best Free UK Bonuses and Promotions

Free spins are rotations of the slot machine wheel that don’t cost anything. In order to encourage new players and get them to try out certain slot machines, several online casinos provide daily free spins. The second purpose of this strategy is to bring back users who haven’t played slots for a long time. Identifying the free spins will help you choose the most rewarding promos at a £10 no deposit slot bonus UK before you even start playing. Moreover, finding the locations of the daily free spins that are provided may be challenging.

It’s easy to become confused among the several online casino sites and free bonus incentives. Therefore, we have produced the following list of UK-friendly online casinos offering daily free spins bonuses.

Free Daily Spins in Various Forms

bettors may choose from a wide variety of daily spins that don’t cost them a dime. Here are the three most prevalent types of daily spins that you may encounter as a UK gamer:

  • First-Deposit Free Spins Every Day. Free spins like this usually come with a sponsored or fully controlled account. In order to establish an account, the players need to make a minimum deposit. Extra rounds are added to a player’s account when they pay the required sum. In lieu of no-deposit incentives, the site offers limitless spins on a variety of game titles in exchange for a minimal initial investment.
  • No Deposit Free Rounds. Players get these extra rounds as a prize without having to make an initial payment. In addition, gamblers may get free spins with no deposit required and no wagering requirements. Depending on the casino and the highest casino bonus offer, you may win close to one hundred free spins without making a deposit. Players may test out popular games like Starburst and Age of the Gods with no risk, thanks to a no-deposit offer that includes bonus spins. After they have been made, the first payment is due.
  • Current Customers Get a Free Round of Play. Free spins are available regularly, usually once a month, for those who are already registered. Bookmakers who provide daily free spins often employ these types of bonus rounds to thank their most loyal customers. It’s true that the larger the payment, the larger the reward. There have been cases when players have received as many as 500 bonus spins.

Advice for Picking the Best Free Daily Spins Site in the UK

Gaining financial success with free spins at UK casino sites requires research and familiarity with the sector. To help you find the best free regular spins bonuses in the UK, we have compiled this list of things to consider:

  • Bonus T Betting offer bonus notions are something else to keep in mind. There are limitations and restrictions associated with each bonus offer and many other unknown online casino facts. Evaluate each casino to see which offers the greatest trade-off between the time and effort necessary to receive a reward and the rewards offered.
  • Betting Minimums. Bets placed inside their walls result in monetary gain for the establishments. To boost the player’s chances of winning real money, they might reduce or remove the wagering restrictions. Choose low-wager or no-wager daily rounds whenever possible to increase your chances of winning the big pot.

Conclusion

Free spins are a popular promotional tool used by most online casinos. As far as I am aware, you will never have to part with any hard cash in exchange for them, but that is not to say that they are not valuable. Keep in mind that bookmakers wouldn’t give them out for free if they didn’t expect to be paid. The idea is that you will join a new casino to take advantage of the free spin bonus and then stick around and play there after your free money has been used up.

3 Ways Bitcoin Can Help You Grow Your Business

Cryptocurrencies are here with us; they have over time been accepted as a means of payment after facing a bumpy ride. When they first appeared, cryptocurrency got a cold reception, they were associated with all manner of things and due to being painted negatively, they suffered a big blow. People have realized their potential and are gradually accepting them as currencies that they can use to store value and means of payment. One of the areas where cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin gained acceptance was in the betting sector.

There are several BTC betting sites where punters can wager on their favorite teams and games. In this case, they will have deposited into their accounts using their bitcoin wallet. As experts point out bitcoin betting is now mainstream, and punters are depositing and withdrawing funds from their accounts. Here, they can enjoy several benefits including low transaction fees, and anonymity among others. In the review of the bitcoin betting sites, several experts say have found the platform ideal for punters as they have several features that provide a great experience. These businesses have adopted bitcoin as a payment option and they are reaping benefits from it. In this article, we will explore three ways that can be used to grow a business.

Increasing reach

While there is a significant population that is yet to accept bitcoin for varied reasons, there is a sizeable group that has embraced it as a means of payment for various goods and services. This group has gradually moved away from fiat currency directly gaining from using blockchain-based technology. Ask anyone who has used cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin in making payments and they will tell you how seamless and convenient the transaction can get. To increase usage, businesses are giving incentives to buyers encouraging them to use the currency in making payments.

With this, they are reaching more customers, especially those who believe in cryptocurrency. If your business is struggling and the kind of products that you deal with can be traded online, cryptocurrencies can help you break the ice. Introduce bitcoin as a payment option, and give some incentives. For instance, if you have a betting platform, give a bonus to those who deposit or withdraw their funds as cryptocurrencies. With this, you will attract more users to your platform. Accepting bitcoin introduces your business to a whole new opportunity, there is a huge number of users who are comfortable with cryptocurrencies, reach out to them and you will notice a big difference in revenue.

Reduction of transaction costs

Cryptocurrencies as part of blockchain technology are mainly a decentralized system where intermediaries have been eliminated, like with crypto OTC trading platforms. Most of the payment options are centralized meaning that there are several players in between sometimes including the authorities. With bitcoin, you are dealing directly with the customer. This means that there are great chances of reducing the transaction cost.

Cost being one of the factors that customers consider when selecting where to buy, you will increase traffic to your business when you meet this condition. Again going back to the example of a betting platform, users are looking for ways to reduce costs in their wagering endeavors. They are looking for payment options that charge minimum fees but offer a great experience. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies offer the following:

  • Attract low transaction fees
  • Offer users security,
  • Anonymity, and
  • Convenience.

When you embrace the use of cryptocurrencies in your business, you will attract customers as they seek to enjoy low transaction costs.

Reduce incidences of fraud

Contrary to the public-held belief that bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency space are riddled with fraud, the payment system is actually safe. It is based on blockchain technology, a sphere that promises security, privacy, and non-interference. Some businesses have fallen victim to fraud where some customers purchase products and later cancel the payment. This is costly to a business and can lead to heavy losses. Luckily, for those who embrace bitcoin, this cannot happen.

Chargebacks are only found in fiat currency transactions. Bitcoin payments are recorded in a system that is permanent and cannot be reversed. This leaves customers with no choice in the event they are looking for a refund. They have to contact the business directly and there has to be a process of authorization before a refund is issued. This also goes for customer privacy; bitcoin provides some of the safest ways to transact. You are assured that information will not fall into wrong hands.

With cases of data breaches, identity loss, and other cyber-related crimes on the increase, customers are looking for systems where their money and personal information are safe. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general can provide this. Embrace it and you will see the number of customers increase.

The business which has adopted bitcoin as one of the payment options is reaping huge benefits. The convenience, safety, and affordability that bitcoin presents as the payment system is drawing users. Take advantage and your business will never be the same again.

Half of technology investment focussed on data and system integration, analysis by Made Smarter’s North West adoption programme reveals

Technology and skills experts to discuss topic at Smart Factory Expo in Liverpool during Digital Manufacturing Week (November 14 to 18)

SME manufacturers in the North West are using data and system integration technology as the driving force behind their digital transformation and growth ambitions, new analysis from Made Smarter reveals.

More than half (159) of the 275 technology projects supported by Made Smarter’s North West adoption programme, including 42 in Greater Manchester, focussed on digital technologies which connect disparate systems and unify data residing in different sources.

As a result of integrating systems and consolidating data sources, business leaders have achieved real-time visualisation of their processes, been able to spot trends in production and labour, correct maintenance and quality issues, and minimise safety, business risk and operational downtime throughout their production.

One in five are adopting robotics and process control automation, while seven per cent are investing in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), using sensors to collect critical production data to gain valuable insights about the efficiency of operations. Others are adopting additive manufacturing to reduce waste and fast track prototyping, while some are using immersive technologies to add value to their services.

Meanwhile, early adopters who have already captured data are now focussed on analytics and artificial intelligence to get more insight and value from their manufacturing operations.

Alain Dilworth, Programme Manager for the Made Smarter’s North West adoption programme, said: “Data and analytics are central to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, so it is encouraging that so many of this region’s makers are embracing the opportunities that these tools offer.

“Capturing the data from across their processes and bringing it all together in one place is a vital first step for many manufacturers looking to solve problems and recognise opportunities. It also becomes a platform for the next step, one which some are already taking, is to analyse the data using artificial intelligence.”

Among those reaping the benefits are Mini Gears, a Stockport-based manufacturer of machined parts, gears and gear racks. It has embarked on a project to create a fully digitally integrated factory to drive growth and productivity, and penetrate new markets.

The benefits of technology adoption will be showcased by Made Smarter’s team of experts at the forthcoming Smart Factory Expo in Liverpool, the industry’s biggest free-to-attend digital manufacturing show running on Wednesday and Thursday (November 16 and 17).

Among those available to speak to SME manufacturers will be Alain Dilworth (programme manager), technology experts Kevin Smith and Will Kinghorn, as well as regional advisors Rose May, Sarah Woodhams, Jan Woodward and Ian Marshall.

Meanwhile, Made Smarter’s Organisation and Workforce Development team, which includes Ruth Hailwood, Jude Honeyman and Michael Hayes will be on hand to talk about the role of skills and how manufacturers can navigate the provision of digital skills in their workforce, futureproof and harness a positive culture.

The team can be found at the Made Smarter stand within Innovation Alley or at one of the SME Growth Summit roundtable discussions each day.

Alain Dilworth added: “The Made Smarter team are relishing the opportunity to demonstrate the impact of our grant funding, skills training and leadership advice on the 2,500 businesses we have helped over the last four years and start conversations with a whole host of SME manufacturers about how we can help them.

“The Smart Factory Expo is a fantastic free-to-attend opportunity to find out more about opportunities for support and funding and how it could help your business.”
