Manchester PPC agency adopts 50 Gorillas

Gorilla Marketing, a leading Manchester-based digital agency, has adopted its 50th gorilla as part of its progressive, environmentally-conscious business strategy.

The pledge, which sees the firm adopt a new gorilla on behalf of every new client, aims to give more back to the world in which they operate.

Partnering with the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and Born Free, the renowned UK PPC agency has plans to adopt many more this year. Today, Fossey Fund trackers and researchers protect roughly half of all the mountain gorilla group families in Rwanda. Gorilla Marketing’s client success manager Charlotte Woodend, who started the project, has helped to ensure the gorillas’ safety for generations to come.

But gorilla adoption isn’t the only remarkable initiative at the firm. Alongside their wildlife protection commitments, Gorilla Marketing is a carbon negative company, with zero carbon footprint. They offset employee carbon, helping to create a carbon-neutral future one employee at a time, with 766 trees planted to date. Overall, Gorilla Marketing has offset 113.81 tonnes of CO2, which is equivalent to 87 long haul flights or 282,363 miles driven in a car!

Aside from championing environmental causes, Gorilla Marketing supports local causes and runs an annual scholarship to develop the next generation of talent for their Manchester SEO agency.  Further, the agency is proud of its own population, with 50%+ female staff ratio, which is practically unheard of in the SEO industry.

With over eight years in business, Gorilla Marketing’s PPC and SEO experts help to drive the growth and success of clients. PPC Manager, David Lawes has been in PPC – specifically Google Ads – since 2007. His granular and sustainable approach to Pay-per-Click has earned him every accolade in the PPC world and he has even been flown out to Mountain View by Google themselves. Other experts on the team include John Carey, Jamie Fallon, Jordan Bush and David Galvin.

Gorilla Marketing’s PPC and SEO experts

Kyle Clifford, Operations Director, says of the success of the gorilla adoption scheme: “The program is a fantastic way to participate in this uniquely successful conservation effort. Mountain gorilla populations have increased thanks to the daily protection provided by our partnership with the Fossey Fund. They are now the only ape whose numbers are not declining!”

Closer to home, Gorilla Marketing is a key player in the Northern Powerhouse project, having a presence in Hull, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, and Sheffield.  Clients span across the UK, Singapore, Australia, and the US.

Pioneering IoT cybersecurity specialist, Cylera, appoints COO to drive domestic and international expansion

Pioneering healthcare IoT and medical device cybersecurity specialist, Cylera, has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer, Geyer Jones, as the firm looks to build on its success in the UK and U.S. healthcare sectors.

Last year, in the UK, an attack against the National Health Services’ key patient telephone service, NHS 111, led to major disruption to patient care services such as ambulance dispatch, out-of-hours appointments and emergency prescriptions. In the U.S., 2022 saw in excess of 600 healthcare providers attacked, including the significant ransomware attack against CommonSpirit Health, the U.S.’s second largest healthcare provider.

The increase in attacks and usage of IoT medical devices has led to demands from Healthcare CEOs, Heads of Hospital IT, and Boards of Directors, for improved cybersecurity controls to better protect patient safety and the resiliency of healthcare IT and IoT systems needed by hospitals. Cylera’s patented technology protects entire connected healthcare IoT environments and helps to solve the complex technological and operational cybersecurity challenges faced by 21st Century hospitals today.

Geyer Jones’ appointment as COO will see him work closely with Cylera’s senior management team. He will oversee the strategic planning and operational direction of the firm as the cybersecurity specialist looks to secure its foothold in the UK and U.S. markets, and as it continues to expand into new territories.

Geyer will be responsible for leading and scaling the company’s growth and go-to market teams, while also ensuring that the company has the business model, assets and services in place to serve customers, scale the business and provide the right environment for employees to grow and thrive.

“I’ve joined Cylera at an exciting point in its growth strategy”, said Jones, the new COO of Cylera. “Hospital networks are becoming increasingly complex with tens of thousands more medical devices coming online over the next couple of years which are essential to critical patient care and diagnostics. As hospitals experience rapid digitalisation to streamline, fast track and improve patient care, this is increasing attack surfaces and potential vulnerabilities in their IT infrastructure.”

“Cylera continues to do things the right way by focusing on customer outcomes, delivering sustainable growth by continually testing the market, and by making sure its products and services are ready to deliver solutions which are needed by its customers”

Geyer brings with him a wealth of experience, leading various business and operations functions across cybersecurity companies with managed services, enterprise software and SaaS businesses. Before joining Cylera, he was an Executive in Residence at Scale Venture Partners. Prior to joining Scale, he was Chief Strategy Officer at RSA, sitting on the team that led RSA’s divestiture from Dell, resulting in STG’s $2.1b acquisition. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions at Symantec and Riptech, helping grow its MSS business from $15m to over $150m.

“I’m looking forward to helping Cylera build on its early success”, continues Jones. “Our focus will be on increasing our foothold in our current markets, by meeting our customers where they are in their maturity journey with the right product offerings and value propositions, and to partner with them as they work to improve their security posture. As we look to the future, we’ll be building out our teams and key infrastructure, enabling us to meet market demand and drive domestic and international expansion.”

Geyer’s appointment comes as recent reports highlight the desperate cybersecurity challenges facing those working in the healthcare sector, globally. In the UK, one report found that healthcare settings were experiencing over 785 cyber-attacks a week – a 69% increase from the year before. Published late last year, a further U.S. report claimed that 50 million patient records were compromised and healthcare related data breaches affected over 22.6 million patients in the previous 12 months.

Co-Founder and CEO, Timur Ozekcin, added: “Geyer has a fantastic reputation for building key business infrastructure strategies that deliver sustainable and successful long-term growth. He will be a key member of the team in helping to increase our market share in the UK and U.S., and in helping us to move into new markets in the future.

“Working in the healthcare sector, it’s vital that we ensure we have the right business model, infrastructure, products and services in place to deliver the high levels of cybersecurity protection our customers, and their patients, need. Following a strategic, sustainable growth strategy enables us to provide exceptional products and services, while also staying on top of the ever-changing face of cybersecurity threats.”

Top 6 Innovative Technologies to Improve Your Business in 2023

0

Technology is quickly becoming an integral part of the global business landscape. Constant technological advancements are changing the face of the globe. It’s challenging to keep up with the ever-accelerating development of science and technology. However, this sets rapidly expanding businesses apart from others that have stayed the same because their leaders failed to see the need to invest in technology upgrades.

For a firm to develop into a technology-managed service provider, its leaders must regularly retrain how technological developments affect marketing, sales and customer service. Every company owner should be familiar with and think about the following key technical solutions:

  1. Digital Signage

Digital signage is a cost-effective and dynamic way to communicate with customers and employees. It can be used in various settings, such as retail stores, restaurants and corporate offices. Digital signage can display real-time information, such as sales promotions, menu items and upcoming events.

Additionally, digital signage for business can improve customer service by providing interactive kiosks and digital displays with touchscreens that allow customers to access product information, place orders and complete transactions. It can also collect customer feedback by displaying surveys and polls on digital screens.

  1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)

AI and ML are becoming increasingly important in today’s business world. They can be used to automate repetitive tasks, such as data entry and analysis and to make better decisions. For example, AI-powered chatbots can assist customers with their inquiries, while ML-powered predictive analytics can identify patterns and trends in customer behavior.

In 2023, AI and ML technologies will become even more powerful and will be able to provide businesses with real-time insights into customer preferences, market trends and product demand. AI and ML will also be used to develop more advanced customer services solutions, such as personalized marketing campaigns and automated customer support.

  1. Internet of Things (IoT)

The term “Internet of Things” (IoT) refers to the network of physical devices, such as electronics and sensors, that can exchange data and communicate with one another via the web and cloud storage. Third parties occasionally join this system and may provide material and data to users. Everything from the sensor that keeps tabs on the pump at the factory to the smartphone you use to unlock your vehicle or front door is an example of an item connected to the internet.

The possibilities suggested by the IoT experts extend well beyond the optimization and digitization of remote operations. Businesses need to be open to establishing a new business and functional models based on systems of linked devices to succeed in today’s market.

  1. Cloud Computing

In 2023, organizations will be able to benefit from cloud computing even more by using it to create highly sophisticated and safe network architectures. A significant change has occurred over the years when it comes to exchanging knowledge in the business sector. Thanks to advancements in cloud computing, companies may now securely exchange data with interested parties whenever necessary. Thanks to cloud computing, businesses have undergone a digital revolution, which has allowed for more agile operations and simple scalability. With each passing day, improvements in cloud security are made. The increased demand for it may be attributed to the growing concern about the safety of sensitive data. It will continue to serve this role in the future, perhaps even more effectively.

  1. 5G

5G is the next generation of mobile networks that promises faster download and upload speeds, lower latency and improved reliability. 5G can be used to improve the customer experience by providing faster and more reliable connectivity. It can also support IoT devices and enable new technologies such as augmented and virtual reality.

Additionally, 5G can be used to improve the efficiency of cloud computing and enable advanced analytics. 5G can also enable autonomous driving and automated machines, which can be used to improve business operations.

  1. Blockchain

The blockchain is a distributed ledger in which all users have constant, shared access to all transaction records. It is only possible to modify the database if most users agree that it complies with the conditions for a transaction to be allowed.

Blockchains eliminate the requirement for a trusted third party to witness financial transactions between many users. Trust and collaboration, both fostered by blockchains, will mutually benefit the networks they underpin.

Implementing these innovative technologies in your business can help you to improve operations, increase efficiency, and boost your bottom line. It is important to research and choose the right technology that would suit your business and customer needs. The key is to stay ahead of the curve and continuously adapt to new technologies as they become available.
