Global E-KYC Market Projected to Reach €2,5B by 2030

The Facts & Factors report has revealed that the global e-KYC market will surpass $2.7 billion or €2.5 billion by 2030. Notably, the market had a valuation of $1.5 billion or €1.4 billion in 2021. The report indicates a projected compound annual growth rate of 21.55 per cent from 2022 to 2030.

The report highlights key market players such as EverCompliant, Acuant, Jumio Corporation, Financial Software & Systems Pvt. Ltd., Onfido, Au10tix, Technologies Ltd., Trust Stamp, 63 Moons, Panamax Inc. and others

These organisations employ various e-KYC techniques, such as video verification, digital ID programs, and identity authentication and matching. They cater to a broad spectrum of end-users, such as insurance companies, financial institutions, banks, government entities, telecom companies and e-payment service providers.

In-Depth Analysis of E-KYC Market Segmentation

The global e-KYC market is expected to be spearheaded by North America, driven by the advanced digital and technical infrastructure in the US and Canada. These countries can implement e-KYC measures efficiently, and consumers have shown a high acceptance rate.

In Europe, the market is poised for growth due to increasing initiatives by national safety and financial regulatory bodies promoting e-KYC practices.

European companies leverage e-KYC systems that offer an improved customer experience and extend their reach beyond regional limits. In the Asia-Pacific region, the banking and financial sectors are witnessing increased investments, which are anticipated to drive significant growth. China’s banking Tier 1 capital has reached $3.38 trillion, indicating its robust position in the industry.

Geographically, the market is divided into several regions. The US, Canada, and Mexico mainly contribute to North America. In Europe, countries such as France, the UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Nordic countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway), as well as the Benelux Union (Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg), play a significant role.

The Asia Pacific region encompasses China, Japan, India, Australia, South Korea, Southeast Asian countries (Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore) and others.

The Middle East & Africa includes Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, South Africa, and other countries in the region. Brazil, Argentina and other countries contribute to the market in Latin America.

The global e-KYC market is segmented based on deployment mode, product, end-user, and region. The deployment mode includes on-premise and cloud-based solutions. The product segment comprises video verification, digital ID schemes and identity authentication & matching.

The end-users of e-KYC solutions include insurance companies, financial institutions, banks, government entities, telecom companies and e-payment service providers.

Evolution of Customer Verification: e-KYC Replaces Traditional KYC

E-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) is the digitised version of the traditional KYC protocol. It is a process that leverages technology to streamline and enhance the customer verification process in the financial industry.

Alongside KYC, another crucial process is AML (Anti-Money Laundering). AML regulations require financial institutions to monitor for and report suspicious activities actively.

KYC-AML audit is critical for banks and financial institutions to prevent money laundering, terrorist financing and other financial crimes.

According to KYCKR, 90 per cent of the largest banks in Europe have received sanctions for money laundering-related violations in the past decade.

AML and KYC compliance mishaps can cost banks millions of dollars. In 2021, organisations spent $1.4 billion or €1.2 billion on AML and KYC services, with fines totalling hundreds of millions of dollars.

NEW ONLINE PARTNERSHIP WILL SAFEGUARD THE FUTURE OF BUSINESSES

MOL – one of the UK’s leading digital learning platforms – is expanding its online offer with a range of the most in demand IT courses – delivered by NuYew Tech Academy – that promise to quickly upskill IT teams; safeguard organisations’ future and de-mystify tech for businesses.

Michael Bradshaw, MOL’s Commercial Director, explains the thinking behind the new partnership: “We live in a dynamic world where organisations have to quickly flex to accommodate new tech advances; adapt to ever-changing cyber threats and deal with a talent war as they struggle to retain their staff in a post-Covid world.”

A report by Security Intelligence* warns that the number of organisations with cyber insurance problems is set to double in 2023.

“Artificial Intelligence is moving at a fast-pace and organisations need to understand the benefits and risks to their businesses; how do they safeguard customer data for example, or link their business planning to tech advances, using data intelligence. Cyber threats are ever-present, fast moving, and predicted to increase again this year.  Understanding how to mitigate against these risks can be achieved by retaining and re-training existing teams.

“The cost of recruiting is high in terms of resource, time, and budgets. It’s far easier to retain talent and invest in upskilling current teams in the art of web development, cyber security and ethical hacking for example, than it is to recruit.”

The new MOL IT courses – delivered by NuYew – provide assurance, intelligence and upskilling in the world of cyber security, ethical hacking, data intelligence, software development, web development and cloud networking.

Jonathan Davies, Founder and CEO of NuYew Tech Academy comments on the new partnership: “”It’s a privilege to join forces with MOL, celebrated for its longstanding tradition of training excellence. With the integration of NuYew’s comprehensive IT courses—including cyber security, web development, and data intelligence—into MOL’s top-tier learning offerings, we’re laying a solid foundation for businesses to combat digital threats and harness the full potential of technology. Our joint effort is all about turning tech challenges into engines of innovation and security.”

With an advanced online learning platform, industry accredited qualifications and flexible courses based around business needs, these courses provide assurance for any organisation looking for solutions to their tech challenges.

The “Acila” is a cutting-edge Fishing Vessel constructed in 2023, proudly sailing under the flag of Oman. It is the 792nd creation of the renowned Zamakona Shipyard in Pasaia, commissioned by the esteemed Omani state-owned company, Oman Pelagic.
Measuring an impressive 84 meters in length, the “Acila” boasts a hold capacity of 1,800 cubic meters, making it ideal for operations in the Indian Ocean, where it will target various tuna species in international waters. The vessel’s propulsion system is powered by 2 x Guascor Energy SF480TA-SG engines, each providing 1250 kVA, and a Guascor Energy SF360-SP engine with a 360 6:1 reduction gearbox, delivering 1120 HP for auxiliary purposes. The Sultanate of Oman has a long maritime history as a trading nation between Eastern Africa, the Indian sub-continent and the Arabian Gulf states. Oman is the only net exporter of fish products in the GCC and has ready access to the growing GCC markets, notably UAE and Saudi Arabia, as well as worldwide markets for quality seafood products.
The “Acila” is not just a vessel; it symbolizes the future of Oman’s fisheries, exemplifying innovation, sustainability, and economic development.
“It is a significant step towards diversifying Oman’s economy and harnessing the immense potential of its fisheries sector, in line with the Vision 2040 objectives of Food Safety and Security for the Sultanate of Oman”, added Eng. Nabil Al Bimani.

Cutting Home Energy Costs: 5 Effective Strategies

0

Beyond mortgage payments, utility expenses, particularly electricity bills, constitute a significant portion of the monthly budget for many American households. Recent data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration reveals that the average residential electric bill in the United States amounts to $143.

However, there are practical and smart measures you can adopt, suggested by heating and cooling experts at Mitsubishi Electric, to effectively lower your family’s energy expenditures. Consider these strategies to curtail your energy bills.

  1. Regular HVAC Maintenance: Keeping your heating and cooling system in optimal condition is crucial for efficient performance. While some tasks can be managed by homeowners, such as cleaning outdoor units and replacing air filters, engaging a licensed contractor for annual maintenance and to assess ductwork and electrical components is essential.
  2. Off-Peak Appliance Use: Shift the usage of appliances like stoves, ovens, and clothes dryers to non-peak hours. Typically, electricity providers experience peak demand between noon and 6 p.m. Using these appliances outside of this timeframe, when conventional heating and cooling systems are heavily utilized, can lead to energy savings.
  3. Upgrade Your System: The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) encourages homeowners to transition to energy-efficient heating and cooling solutions, such as qualified heat pumps. Mitsubishi Electric heat pumps, for instance, offer enhanced energy-efficient cooling and heating, resulting in cost savings and reduced environmental impact.
  4. Harness Solar Energy: Solar panels have the potential to power the world’s energy usage for an entire year based on just 90 minutes of sunlight, as stated by the Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy. Investing in solar panels can significantly reduce energy bills and enhance your home’s sustainability. Moreover, incentives provided by utility companies and government entities, including the IRA, can aid in reducing installation costs.
  5. Temperature Control in Unused Spaces: Adjusting your temperature settings before leaving the house is essential to prevent unnecessary energy consumption. Multi-zone, all-electric heat pumps, like those by Mitsubishi Electric, enable homeowners to set individual room temperatures, reducing energy waste in unoccupied areas. A smartphone app further allows remote temperature adjustments.

Mastering Interviews: 5 Tips to Secure Your Dream Job

0

In the current landscape of abundant job opportunities, you might assume that landing a new role is a breeze. However, with a plethora of candidates vying for positions due to evolving work dynamics, competition remains fierce. Nailing your interview is crucial to seal the deal.

Consider these five invaluable tips to create a lasting impression and secure the job you aspire to:

  1. Preparation is Key: Approach the interview as more than just a preliminary step. Once the appointment is set, delve deeper to understand the company and the role thoroughly. While you likely did some groundwork when crafting a tailored CV and cover letter, the interview demands a deeper knowledge. Equip yourself with information and rehearse answers to anticipated questions.
  2. Showcase Your Value: Align your strengths with the job description. Compile a list of key points that highlight how your expertise aligns with the role. During the interview, seize opportunities to convey these aspects of your skillset. Often, interviewers allow for additional input – capitalize on this to present a concise overview of how you can excel in the position.
  3. Ask Enlightening Questions: Remember, an interview isn’t just about determining your suitability; it’s also about evaluating if the job suits you. Formulate inquiries that provide insights into whether the role aligns with your requirements. Consider the essentials you seek in a new job and identify the aspects that are desirable.
  4. Exemplify a Winning Candidate: Impressions hold immense weight in interviews. Dress appropriately in well-fitted attire suitable for the position. Prioritize grooming, down to meticulous details like neatly trimmed nails and minimal distractions. Arrive early to ensure a composed entrance. Project confident body language, with a firm handshake and a clear voice. Strike a balance between authority and respect, fostering a comfortable, two-way conversation.
  5. Leave an Indelible Mark: Before concluding the interview, seek clarity on the subsequent steps in the process. Within a day, send personalised follow-up messages to each person you encountered. Express gratitude for their time and incorporate specifics from your conversation, such as expanding on a topic or reaffirming a pivotal point. Tailor these messages to each recipient, conveying your keen interest and the alignment of your skills.

Seized Adult Products Incinerated by Prudish Officials

0

Dozens of confiscated sex toys have been incinerated by prudish officials, igniting a debate on cultural norms and traditions.

Bureaucrats oversaw the destruction of 27 assorted rubber phalluses of varying sizes, including a mechanized thrusting dildo apparatus.

In addition to vibrators and anal plugs, the official purge extended to the destruction of 4.3 million illicitly imported cigarettes and a multitude of alcoholic beverage bottles.

Jam Press JMP357113

The Ngurah Rai Customs Office in Bali, Indonesia, confirmed that confiscated contraband worth a combined £174,463 (IDR 3.4 billion) was eradicated in this manner.

These items had been apprehended from tourists arriving in the Indonesian provinces of Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara between January and July of the current year.

The customs authorities exhibited the seized merchandise in a press event before consigning them to flames.

Susila Brata, the Customs Chief, remarked, “Sex toys are almost invariably among the items seized at practically every airport customs office. They are commonly brought by travellers en route to Bali.”

Jam Press JMP357110

While many sex toys do not explicitly violate Indonesia’s stringent Anti-Pornography Law, numerous items are considered overly provocative in the context of the nation’s norms and heritage. As a result, they frequently fall victim to customs confiscation upon entry.

One local resident playfully quipped, “Why destroy the dildo machine? It is good for drilling walls.”

Locals shared their thoughts on social media:

  • Lala stated, “There seems to be quite a collection of dildos.”
  • Wasan commented, “The firmness of the black mamba dildo stands out.”
  • Gede observed, “The officials seem rather pleased.”
  • Karin expressed skepticism, “I’m not convinced that everything confiscated was destroyed. There must have been a few individuals slipping in to claim them.”
  • Komang speculated, “Based on what was shown, the remaining items were likely resold or distributed among acquaintances.”

The incident has sparked discussions about cultural clashes and the evolving attitudes towards adult products in the region.

Persistence Pays Off: Man Wins Lottery Using Same Numbers for Seven Years

0

Paul Caudill, a fortunate man, has won the lottery with the same set of numbers he faithfully played for seven years.

Paul’s steadfastness finally bore fruit as he matched all five white balls in the ‘Lucky for Life’ lottery game, a habit he had maintained since its inception in 2016.

Given the opportunity to choose between a lump sum of $390,000 (£306,865) or an annual payment of $25,000 (£19,670) for the remainder of his life, Paul, from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, US, opted for the larger sum.

After deductions for state and federal taxes, he took home a net amount of $277,879 (£218,645).

Paul recounted his disbelief at witnessing his winning numbers emerge during the North Carolina Education Lottery draw. He shared, “I thought there might be a mistake. I couldn’t sleep the rest of the night.”

He further revealed, “I’ve been using the same numbers every day since the game started. These numbers represent different family birthdays.”

When questioned about his plans for the winnings, Caudill expressed, “I can finally pay off my house.”

The winning $2 (£1.50) ticket was purchased by Caudill at the One Stop convenience store on West Mountain Street in Kernersville Town.

In a similar stroke of luck last month, a 65-year-old lorry driver hit the lottery just three days after retiring from his profession.

Paul Bashaw, hailing from West Boylston, Massachusetts, secured the winning ticket only days after revealing his retirement plans to his employer of over two decades. He purchased a $5,000,000 100X Cashword scratch card on 20 July and was astounded to win $1 million (£786,940).

On his final day at work, which coincided with his claiming of the winnings at the Massachusetts Lottery headquarters in Dorchester on 28 July, Bashaw exclaimed, “There were three things in life I never thought I’d see happen: The Patriots winning the Super Bowl, getting a hole in one – that happened five years ago – and hitting the lottery. And now I’ve hit all three!”

He chose to receive a one-time payment of $650,000 (£511,511) before taxes.

Huge fundraiser pulls in over £15k to fight homelessness in Greater Manchester

0

Mayor Andy Burnham cheered on teams coming from across Greater Manchester as they pulled together to combat homelessness

26 teams battled it out to become ‘Greater Manchester’s Strongest Team’ on Thursday 17 August, whilst raising thousands of pounds to help tackle the rise of homelessness across the city region.

Supporting the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity, the event challenged teams of five to pull a brand new bright yellow bus across a 30-metre course around the historic vaulted arches of Manchester Central. Resource Solutions’ team, ‘RS on the Pull’ were the winning team, dragging the 11,220kg bus over the line in a blitzing time of 00:27:69!

Attended by Mayor Andy Burnham, the event raised just over £15,000 which will help thousands of individuals at risk of homelessness across the city region, whilst also providing much-needed care for those already sleeping rough. The total raised will help provide 500 nights of accommodation for the A Bed Every Night scheme.

Andy Burnham Mayor of Greater Manchester and Patron of Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity said:

“That really was an incredible event with a real buzz in the room. This was more than a physical challenge, it was a display of the strength and unity of our city-region pulling together to end homelessness, as we prepare for the Bee Network launch. Everyone should have a home, and everyone should have a bed for a night. The funds we raised help make that possible. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated.”

Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity provides grants to pioneering organisations that work throughout the city region. It has raised over £3.1 million since it was launched in 2019, unlocking more than 70,000 nights of emergency accommodation, 40 grants to organisations experiencing tough times and enabling 12 years of frontline work through funding.

The success of the event is owed largely to Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), Diamond North West, Go North West and Manchester Central.

Fran Darlington-Pollock, CEO at Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity, said:

“As soon as we announced the event, the level of interest was huge, right up to the deadline we continued to sign teams up and we couldn’t have been happier with the turnout. It’s testament to the people of Manchester who are always prepared to stand up and tackle big issues facing our city and who are never afraid of a challenge

“It’s a great symbol of the community pulling together to help change lives and I can’t thank everyone enough for attending and also donating their hard-earned cash.”
