Thousands of people helped to take part in millions of pounds worth of fully-funded training thanks to GM Skills Map

Thousands of people working at businesses in Greater Manchester have been helped to take part in millions of pounds worth of fully-funded training thanks to GM Skills Map.

The GM Skills Map was launched in January 2021, to help showcase all of the training, skills and apprenticeships available in Greater Manchester.

Since then, there have been more than 2000 people have started on a fully-funded training course, with a total value of more than £2,000,000.

Now, more businesses and individuals are being urged to use the online tool to make sure that they are making the most of it and accessing all the training, skills and apprenticeship options that are available.

With businesses facing rising costs this winter, the Skills Map is also a great way to help keep these down with access to funded training while also training staff to help the business grow and be more profitable at a difficult time.

So far GM Skills Map has seen:

  • 284 people apply for apprenticeships. With an apprenticeship having a minimum cost of £3,000 this is an estimated £825,000 provided via GM Skills Map Of these 140 have either applied, booked or been approved onto these apprenticeship courses, so a minimum value of approximately £420,000.
  • 2392 applications made to fully-funded training courses which were either approved, or the person was actually recorded as having started or completed the courses. If this is multiplied by the number of successful applicants to these courses, the total value provided is £2,204,499.92.
  • 450 successful applications made to commercial courses totalling £93,416.11.

Janine Richardson, Programme Manager, Skills for Growth, said: “GM Skills Map has been an excellent success since we launched it last year. We’ve seen fantastic engagement from both individuals and employees, many of whom have taken part in either partly-funded or fully-funded training.

“There’s a whole range of courses available that can help to upskill people but also help to solidify a businesses strategic goals. I would urge all businesses to take a look and ensure they are accessing all the options that are available. This could be especially important this winter with many businesses facing rising costs.

“GM Skills Map can help with keeping training costs down. Either through the part-funded or fully-funded training and also help develop businesses and employees in ways that could help through these uncertain times.”

GM Skills Map is open to all SMEs across Greater Manchester, and as well as the map cataloguing training and apprenticeships, there is also a dedicated team on hand to help.

The easy to use platform offers both employers and learners the functionality to search a range of commercial, full and part-funded training courses across a variety of disciplines including sales and marketing, leaders, Digital, IT and cyber security as well as more specialist courses for industry sectors including manufacturing, construction and health and social care.

GC Business Growth Hub in partnership with Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce launched Skills for Growth – SME Support in October 2020 after receiving funding from Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) as part of its three-year Skills for Growth programme, funded through the European Social Fund.

The fully funded business support programme is designed to help Greater Manchester SME’s achieve their growth ambitions through workforce development.

Following its recent acquisition of Manchester-based managed services provider (MSP) Everything Tech as the fourth company in its Group, buy-and-build MSP Managed IT Services Group (MITSG) has rebranded as Everything Tech Group.

The co-founders of MITSG believe that the time is right to bring each of their companies under one overarching banner which supports their core competencies and reflects their cultures.

“MITSG has grown rapidly through our four material acquisitions since May 2021 and we have a sound footing in all the areas in which we wanted to concentrate, owing to the expertise of the people at each of these companies. With the addition of Everything Tech, we feel it is now time to launch a new identity for the Group,” said Phil Smith, COO of Everything Tech Group (formerly MITSG).

Smith continued: “The pre-existing Everything Tech brand and culture appealed to us just as much as it will appeal to clients of the companies that our acquired companies were already working with. The brand is fresh, engaging, and something we can stand behind and build our Group around.

“This isn’t just about changing the badge on the door. The rebrand will unite our people, our identity, our culture and our group-wide capabilities. I am both proud of how far we have come and excited for the future for our companies,” Smith added.

MITSG was founded in 2021 by former CFO of GCI/Nasstar, Mark Allen, and former COO of the same company, Phil Smith. The company began its journey with the acquisitions of MSPs IT Farm and CSS Group and Cloud communications specialist Nexbridge Communications, before the further acquisition of Everything Tech in July 2022.

The Motives Behind UK people Search for discounts

Casino bonuses are a great way to encourage new and existing players to try out new games or stick with the ones they know and love. But how do they work, and what type should you be looking for? In this article, we’ll take a closer look at everything you need to know about casino bonuses at the new online casino UK to make the most informed decision when choosing one.

What Are Casino Bonuses?

A casino bonus is a free incentive or offer provided by the online casino to get players to sign up. Bonuses are usually in the form of free credits, which can be used to bet on various games, or in the form of special offers, such as no deposit spins or free entry into specific tournaments.

There are many different types of bonuses, and they can vary greatly in terms of value and conditions. Some bonuses are more generous than others, and some come with stricter conditions that must be met before you can withdraw your winnings. It’s important to read the terms and conditions of each bonus before claiming it so that you know exactly what you’re getting into.

How Casino Bonuses Work

So how do they function? Depositing into your account usually activates perks. The top online casino will then match that deposit up to a particular sum or provide you with a set number of free spins on one of their slot machine games. Other bonuses don’t require a deposit from you to activate them, known as no deposit bonuses. Even though they are typically smaller benefits, you should still take advantage of them if possible.

There will normally be wagering restrictions when you obtain a casino bonus. This means that before you can withdraw any wins, you must wager a particular sum of money.

The good news is that these requirements are often quite reasonable, and it’s possible to make some decent profits if you play your cards right.

If you’re looking for ways to boost your bankroll, bonuses are definitely worth taking advantage of. Just make sure you read the terms and conditions carefully before claiming any offers so that you know exactly what you’re getting yourself into. With a bit of luck, you could end up making some serious profits from bonuses.

What Are the Different Types of Bonuses?

There are many different types of bonuses out there, and they can vary greatly in terms of size, wagering requirements, and other conditions. Here’s a quick overview of some of the most common types of bonuses you’ll come across:

  • No Deposit Bonuses: These bonuses do not require any deposit to be made and are typically smaller in size than other types of bonuses. They usually come with strict wagering requirements, however, so make sure you read the fine print before claiming one.
  • Welcome/Sign-Up Bonuses: These are the most common type of bonuses offered by online casinos and usually take the form of a match bonus (i.e. the casino will match your deposit up to a certain amount). Once again, make sure you read the wagering requirements before claiming a bonus of this type.
  • Reload Bonuses: These bonuses are available to existing players who reload their accounts with additional funds. They are often smaller in size than welcome bonuses but can still provide some nice extra value.
  • Loyalty Bonuses: These bonuses are awarded to players who frequently play at a particular casino. They can take many different forms, such as no deposit spins, bonus cash, or exclusive VIP offers.
  • High Roller Bonuses: As the name implies, these bonuses are aimed at high rollers who deposit large sums of money into their account. They usually come in the form of a match bonus and may have higher wagering requirements than other types of bonuses.

Why Do UK Players Search for Casino Bonuses?

There are many reasons UK players search for bonuses. One of the primary reasons is to get extra value for their money. Casino bonuses provide an opportunity to do this by giving players additional funds to play with, which can lead to bigger winnings.

In addition, bonuses can also be a great way to try out new games or casinos without risking any of your own money. This is especially advantageous for players who are new to online gambling and want to see what all the fuss is about before committing any real money.

Finally, bonuses can sometimes be used as a loyalty reward by casinos. If a player regularly plays at a particular site, they may be rewarded with exclusive bonuses or other perks such as no deposit spins on popular slots. This can help to keep players coming back to a site, which is good for both the casino and the player.

Conclusion

There are a number of reasons why UK players might be searching for casino bonuses. In some cases, they may be looking for an extra value in order to make their gambling budget go further. In other cases, they may be trying to clear wagering requirements in order to withdraw winnings. Whatever the reason, it’s clear that casino bonuses are an important part of the online gambling landscape for many players in the UK.

If you’re a UK player who’s looking for bonuses, make sure to do your research before claiming any offers. Read the terms and conditions carefully so that you understand exactly what you’re signing up for. And always remember to gamble responsibly!

The Most Shocking Cases with lucky people

Have you ever wondered how a casino, mystery, and crime became a triad? Don’t sweat it; the reason is simple. Crime, mystery, and gambling have a long-drawn history. However, before starting, you should visit the UK casino bonus sites for more virtual casino options. You will thank us later. Also, why not visit some of the best online casinos? Here are some you might like:

  • Ignition
  • Red Dog
  • Gambino Slots
  • Las Atlantis

Do you know what’s even more intriguing? People who venture into real money casinos go to any length to clean the clocks of rival gamblers. Their actions come from greed, debt, and obsession with exercising power. We mean that they would kill to dominate the gambling world regardless of their histories. We cannot shy away from the fact that the underworld controlled the pubs during the prohibition era.

The implication was that every gambler could barge into any pub, gamble, and drink whatever they wanted. So, yes, some of the plots in films like 3000 Miles may be nothing but fiction. However, this does not mean there are no shocking historical and current stories about a gaming house, especially concerning crime. More than that – there were even casino-buses that could give players the ride to the nearest casinos. Now that you know that the world of gaming sites is more than what meets the eyes, here are some films that can show you a few shocking things.

  • Bond’s Casino Royale
  • Ocean’s Eleven
  • Mississippi Grind
  • Win it all
  • Bugsy
  • 21
  • Rounders and many others

We’re about to discuss the most shocking cases in gaming houses. So now you should get your popcorn ready, sit back, and relax.

An Infamous Abductor Loses Over 250 Million Dollar Earnings to Casino

In most cases, the tales play out differently. Ordinarily, it is the gaming house that falls victim to a fraudster. In this case, they lose all their pennies (a whopping sum of money) to a con artist.

However, in this tale, we will walk you through a cheat who lost all his pretty pennies to gambling (that is, a casino). Interesting right?

Tales of Tze-Keung

Tze-Keung was one of Zhongguo or China’s most notorious cheats. You would not believe that he managed to earn a whopping amount of 250 million dollars or even more. He did this just by demanding a gross amount of ransoms from the wealthy Chinese. This man was obsessed with gambling. He carried himself confidently as though he would rule over every gambling centre, especially gaming houses.

Aside from his identity as an abductor and gambler, he had the pseudonym “big spender.” The reason was that he had an extravagant lifestyle. Tze showed off his affluence by offering free monies and bounties to friends and family members. On many occasions, he lavished several amounts of bucks on strangers that he barely met at the roadside or gaming houses.

Even though Tze lived a three-faced life, every aspect of his life pointed at betting and a gaming house.

Tze-Keung Robbery and Abduction Ransom

Tze-Keung collaborated with one other Chinese man. They engaged in several robberies within Hong Kong. For instance, the partners-in-crime carted away with a gross amount of 25.4 million dollars and more on two occasions at the Kai Tak Airport. However, as fate would tame them one fateful day, they met their waterloo during an airport robbery. The police wiretapped them, and they were sentenced to 18 years imprisonment. That happened to be around September 1991.

However, Tze-Keung appealed against the judgment sometime around 1995. So, yes, he was released when the court ruled that there were no substantial pieces of evidence pointing him to the crime. But unfortunately, his partner’s jail sentence was extended to forty-one years because he was found guilty.

Upon release from detention, Tze explored abduction. However, his target market was first to second-generation business people. Just about 1997, he abducted the son of a wealthy man known as Li Ka-Shing. In the following few months, he also abducted a real estate mogul. All his earnings from these abductions amounted to over two hundred and fifty million.

Destiny tricked him again when he failed to abduct an important Chinese politician named Anson Chan. Upon realizing this, Tze fled after planting some explosives in a government building. Eventually, he was prosecuted with over thirty-five other fraudsters and put on trial.

Upon his arrest, it turned out that he had squandered all his earnings from abduction in a gaming house. Later, Tze confessed to all his crimes after failed attempts to quash his conviction.

As a result, he was sentenced to death. In any case, Tze is an appalling case. All his life was for a casino bonus and nothing but casino. Tze’s case is one of the most shocking gaming house cases.

The Winner Who Had No Penny

You may find it difficult to believe this. But this was a stark reality. A popular virtual casino fanatic had always wanted to play the jackpot. Her name was Katherine, and she was a Canadian. Little did she know that playing the jackpot at that time would be a watershed event in her life.

Katherine garnered free spins at the casino, which is common among gamblers. Then she utilized the spins. Surprisingly, it was a winning streak that earned her over 1,600 dollars.

Girl in a Retro Dress

A gambler woke up out of the blue. To his surprise, he realized he had dozed off in one of the frequented casinos. The most intriguing part was that he found a pretty lady in a vintage dress staring at him. Fearful, the man stood up and walked to the gaming house table. At that point, the table began to shake.

The more the lady stared at the table, the more the table shook. The table stopped spinning as soon as the ghost-like lady stopped watching.

The man watched in disbelief as she disappeared. That was because the lady inspired him to wager the correct numbers throughout the game. He had several winning streaks on that day.

During subsequent visits, the man would walk confidently to the casino table and wager using the numbers inspired by the spirit. For the man, that encounter was his miracle.

The Convicted Poet and His Girlfriend

One of the creepiest gaming house stories occurred in 1993. The love birds (Heather and Robert) hatched a robbery plan and executed it at Circus Casino, which made the workload of casino employees even worse.

Before this, Solis wrote a poem under a pseudonym and persuaded other poets to petition for his release. So this means that he was a notorious trickster.

The lovers relocated to avoid potential apprehension by the police. However, Heather turned herself in after breaking up with Robert around 2005. In any case, no one knew Solis’s whereabouts since then.

Conclusion

Without touching crimes, you cannot discuss the most hair-raising events in gaming houses. Most of these cases happened because some players wanted to defraud a casino. Now the point is that no one gets any better by defrauding a casino. Try as much as possible to be on your best behaviour in any physical casino to avoid unnecessary drama. We hope you find these cases shocking and interesting.

Former BBC Children’s executive launches inaugural children’s book

0

A new author, from Sale, is launching his first in a series of children’s books, inspired by his daughter.

Stuart Rowson, 45, is creating a trilogy of adventure novels, the first of which – ‘Izzy and the Tumble Thunder’ – will be on sale on 1st November

The books portray the challenges, worries and anxieties that children, especially young girls, face growing up these days with the main character Izzy, named after his daughter, showing how to successfully overcome them.

The series has been snapped up by new publisher Whalebone, a subsidiary of The Book Writers Resource.

Stuart, who has spent more than 20 years in the media, worked for a decade at the BBC at MediaCity in Salford. At BBC Children’s, he led the digital transformation of Newsround, oversaw the relaunch of the Children’s iPlayer, as well as the digital and social output of the department – from CBeebies apps to TikTok and YouTube strategies. He also oversaw the team that delivered Bedtime Stories, which featured a range of celebrities including Tom Hardy and Isla Fisher.

Prior to that he spent several years at BBC Sport leading on the digital and social coverage of some of the world’s biggest sporting events, from London Olympics 2012 to Wimbledon and the football World Cup in Brazil.

Since leaving the BBC, Stuart now runs his own successful media company focused on kids and younger audiences and counts Chelsea FC, Birmingham 2022, British Cycling and industry-leading production company Sunset & Vine among his clients.

The comng-of-age story focuses on a young girl called Izzy, who lives with her mum in a clock shop in London, plagued by visions of her missing dad.

After discovering a magical time-travelling device on her 13th birthday, called a Tumble Thunder, and a note she is convinced is from her dad, she must travel back through history to complete the quest to find him and realise her own destiny – all the while being hunted by an evil character from the future called the Time Shadow.

Stuart said: “It has been a lifelong ambition of mine to write a novel as I’ve always loved writing, but my main inspiration came after reading all seven of the Harry Potter books to my daughter at bedtime over the course of three years.

“The idea was to write a book to give to my daughter for her 13th birthday, so I was keen to ensure it did two things: deliver a strong female character who was an anti-hero in the modern world and to give young girls a role model who wasn’t worried about fitting in or what she looked like in a selfie.

“The original idea morphed and twisted over time to become Izzy and the Tumble Thunder, and I named the main character after my daughter. Not wanting to leave Izzy’s two older brothers out, Danny and Charlie got a village named after them called Great Chardan. That’ll do them as they’re grown-ups now!

“My hope is that it teaches children to stand up for themselves and others, that it’s okay to not fit in, and to be happy being themselves.”

The sequel, Izzy and the Time Shadow, is already in the works and will be launched in 2023. Part three of the trilogy will be launched after that.

Izzy and the Tumble Thunder is available now on https://tumblethunder.com and will be available to buy on Amazon on 1st November.

As part of the launch, Stuart will be available for school visits to talk about his career in the media and the journey behind writing Izzy and the Tumble Thunder.
