Reseller hosting might be the right choice if you intend on selling excess server resources and eventually becoming a full-service web hosting provider.

Who is responsible for customer service?

As a reseller, you are usually in charge of providing customer service to your clients. Most reseller hosting providers provide support to their reseller customers via email or a comprehensive knowledge base.

Fractory was founded in 2017, in Estonia. Its Manchester HQ opened in 2019 at the Bonded Warehouse, in Enterprise City, where a team of 20 British engineers work, overseeing large projects, quality control and logistics for the many businesses who use Fractory for their manufacturing procurement needs.

It has automated the manufacturing procurement process so that engineers simply upload design files to get instant quotes and delivery times, with Fractory taking responsibility for every aspect of the order. Customers use Fractory for series manufacturing, project manufacturing and prototyping too.

The rankings are based on fully audited accounts and consider revenue growth in the three years to 2021 which saw Fractory’s income go from less than quarter of a million euros to more than six and a half million euros. The same time period shows a compound annual growth rate of 209.4%.

In the FT/Statista ranking, London has held its place as the city with the largest number of fast-growing companies, for the seventh consecutive year, with 83 businesses listed, followed by Paris (34) and Milan (33).

It is an automated on-demand manufacturing platform connecting engineering and manufacturing companies. The company aims to make more efficient use of the available machinery, filling the production gaps by distributing jobs according to manufacturer availability, lead time, expertise and capabilities. Fintech Firms Resort to a Hiring Freeze Thanks to Challenging Times

According to a major new report, half of all fintech firms have put a stop to hiring staff in 2023 because of the challenging economic climate.

During the first half of 2022, over 4,000 fintech employees lost their roles across 45 companies, from mortgage lenders to firms processing digital payments, further highlighting the impact challenging financial times are having on the sector.

With a global recession looming, the development of financial software and the evolution of fintech innovations will have a larger impact on consumers than ever in 2023.

That’s all according to a new report – Exploring Fintech in 2023 – by Erlang Solutions, leading technology experts who work with companies globally to build and deliver transformative, scalable and innovative tech solutions.
Half (51%) of fintech firms are expecting to put a hiring freeze in place this year, with almost another third (31%) not ruling the idea out – and 16% already having a freeze in place.

Large and medium-sized fintech businesses are more likely to reduce their staffing levels than smaller firms, and large enterprises are nearly twice as likely to close offices or stores – and reduce software licences and seats – as their medium-sized rivals. This trend can be attributed to various factors such as the need to optimize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.

Furthermore, it has also been revealed that larger enterprises are nearly twice as likely to close offices or stores, as well as reduce software licenses and seats when compared to their medium-sized counterparts. These measures are being taken by businesses to streamline their operations, improve profitability, and respond to changing market dynamics.

It is important to note that while such decisions can be challenging, they are necessary for businesses to remain competitive and thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape. By embracing new technologies and implementing innovative strategies, fintech businesses can not only survive but also grow and expand their reach.

Small businesses were more likely to be focused on setting their customers up for success in the event of a deeper recession.

The annual report, which brings together leading Fintech industry experts to examine the industry trends that are set to impact the year ahead, also looks at how the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) is likely to continue to dominate in the sector over the year ahead – and at how companies can expect to see future regulatory developments over the coming months.

The agency argues that sustainability is no longer just a buzzword in fintech and will need to be at the heart of company cultures moving forwards, and the report also provides new insights on embedded banking and blockchain from those at the centre of the fintech revolution.

The report includes thought leadership from key industry figures including Francesco Cesarini, founder and Technical Director at Erlang Solutions, Chris Skinner, author and speaker, Irfan Khan, founder and CEO of tech provider mmob, Daniel Belda, Head of Product Strategy at OpenPayd, Gideon Malherbe, Chief Strategist at Vaulto, and Sunil Bhardwaj, CEO of Ezpays.

Erlang Solutions is a global technology company offering a unique mix of expert technical capabilities, world-class consultancy and a vibrant community. With over 20 years of experience of building massively scalable distributed systems, it builds and maintain transformative distributed systems for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500s, including WhatsApp, Klarna, Pivotal, Motorola, Ericsson, Adidas Runtastic, Kivra, Pando Health, Pepsico and more.

Francesco Cesarini, Founder and Technical Director at Erlang Solutions, said: “While the threat of global recession brings challenges for fintech companies – and it’s true some may not survive – it’s clear that fintech has really supported consumers over the last few years of global challenges, and that it will continue to do so.
“As a people-focused consultancy, we want to support the creation of an industry that provides stability, flexibility and opportunity for customers and consumers alike. This is likely to involve greater co-operation to create a diverse ecosystem that works for all, and we hope our report helps to spark those conversations.”

Grant Thornton doubles up on tech deals in Liverpool City Region

0

Grant Thornton UK LLP’s Corporate Finance team in the North West has advised on two tech-enabled deals in as many weeks in Liverpool City Region, as the firm notes that the challenging market conditions is not drying up interest in regional, quality, tech-enabled assets.

In early March, the Grant Thornton team led the sale of advised on the sale of two Liverpool City Region-based businesses, including ‘digital first’ debt recovery and credit management services provider Ardent Credit Services and the sale of artificial intelligence-based talent analytics platform Horsefly.

Subject to FCA approval, Ardent will add 26 years’ expertise and experience to the new owner Phillips & Cohen Associates (PCA) in the UK collections industry. Ardent’s technology allows its clients to choose the most appropriate channels through which to interact, was attracted to PCA as part of its growth strategy.

Meanwhile, Horsefly, which enables AI-based HR decision making, has secured investment from mid-market private equity investor LDC, after Mercia, via the North West Fund for Venture Capital, successfully exited the business.

Its subscription-based software as a service (SaaS) platform gathers and aggregates real-time data on labour markets from 60 countries, creating insight into business-critical issues such as global talent sourcing, onboarding, diversity and inclusion, rewards and benefit benchmarking, and workforce development and planning.

Advising on these two prominent Liverpool City Region-based deals marks a positive start to 2023, following a strong 2022 that saw the North West corporate finance advisory team named as Mid-Market Corporate Finance Team of the Year at the prestigious Insider Dealmakers Awards.

Chris Ryan, Corporate Finance transaction lead for Grant Thornton in Liverpool said: “Given the last half year of economic and political uncertainty, it is a testament to the quality businesses within the Liverpool City Region and right across the North West, that transactions are showing little sign of slowing down.

“Liverpool City Region has a growing reputation for creating quality, tech-enabled businesses and Horsefly and Arden Credit Services are prime examples.

“We expect that, as we progress through the year that innovative tech-enabled businesses with blue chip customers, and secure revenues will remain appealing for investors, both domestically and internationally due to their proven resilience and flexibility.”

Pioneering Agreement Signed by Zero and Global E&C

As Zero announces their partnership with leading EPC provider, Global E&C, plans for the creation of the world’s first fully-featured synthetic fuel plant have taken a landmark step forward, propelling the timeline for the commercialisation of synthetic fuel. The initial agreement includes the construction of Plant Zero.1, a first-of-a-kind (FOAK) facility that will create synthetic fuels, made from just air and water. While synthetic fuels are currently available in small quantities, the new site will be the first to provide a scalable pathway to the mass production of synthetic fuels.

The new agreement will transfer the skills and resources from existing fossil-based industries into the clean energy sector with the two companies working together to complete the new plant and accelerate the scale-up and modularisation of Zero’s synthetic fuel technology. The engineering support contract was signed at Global E&C’s Modularisation Facility, at the Nord Centre in Aberdeen.

Zero Co-Founder and CEO Paddy Lowe said: “We have an ambitious timeline in place to deliver the opening of our first large-scale commercial plant within the next two years and with this agreement, we are in a fantastic position to achieve this goal. As we seek to grow the synthetic fuel market and ultimately drive solutions for global Net Zero goals, it is important as a company to have agility, flexibility and scalability. We believe that working with Global E&C’s engineers will allow this and enable the rapid development of new solutions.

“This is an extremely exciting opportunity to take the skills that have been developed in the fossil fuel industry, repurposing and channelling them into a new world of carbon-neutral energy. Our innovative modular plant design and construction concept is all about efficiency in weight and size and Global E&C brings a unique insight that will help optimise our approach, achieving significant reductions in schedule and cost while maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety.”

Paddy Lowe Founder Zero 2
Paddy Lowe, Founder of Zero.

Global E&C CEO, Terry Allan, said: “Global E&C are delighted to partner with Zero at this pivotal stage in the development of Plant Zero.1 and we are looking forward to supporting Zero full-scale commercial roll-out through the provision of engineering and modularised solutions. Global E&C is committed to delivering services which enable the decarbonisation of onshore and offshore energy infrastructure, this contract with Zero has the potential to accelerate the Energy Transition.”

20210406 Global Terry Allan 054
Terry Allan, Executive Director at Global E&C.

The Energy Transition will see fossil-based fuels replaced by reduced or zero carbon solutions such as wind, solar and nuclear. In transportation, the challenge is in developing fuels that can provide the same performance as fossil fuels – in terms of range and power – that meet decarbonisation targets. Industries such as air travel and freight are looking to synthetic fuel as part of the solution.

Synthetic fuel production is a clean industrial process that uses just air and water to create equivalent fuels to kerosene, diesel and petrol. These fuels can be used in any vehicle without modifications or changes to engines, with any emissions from the fuel being repurposed and used to create more fuel. In addition, unlike biofuels and fuels from waste, Zero’s synthetic fuel options can be used directly, without the need to blend them with fossil fuels.

Zero is one of the pioneers in this space and for Global E&C, working on the Energy Transition is a natural evolution of what it has been doing since its inception. Both companies are at significant stages in their respective growth and development and this contract provides an opportunity to partner together on ambitious plans that lay the foundation for future possibilities.

Pushing forward the final construction phase of Plant Zero.1, which is already underway in Bicester, UK, Zero aims to achieve fuel production by the middle of this year. By working closely together with Global E&C at this early stage, the aim is to develop procedures and processes that will then help in the full-scale commercial roll-out of synthetic fuel.

It simulates real-world scenarios, and students come up with countermeasures or solutions. They develop problem-identification capabilities through years of practice. Not only this, but they learn how to solve them.

Entrepreneurship in education promotes a growth mindset among undergraduates. It also makes them more resilient. Instead of viewing failures as challenges, they tackle them as obstacles. They develop a more holistic outlook since the study encourages constant learning. As a result, learners are tougher in the face of challenges and take on more risks. It Boosts Leadership Qualities and Builds Responsible Citizens

The world is always in demand for good leaders. Teaching entrepreneurship at a young age helps students incorporate new skills. They start early and think like leaders. As a result, it is one of the best methods to foster a more entrepreneurial society. This is an environment that rejects the consumption mindset. Instead, it favors production. Furthermore, it teaches students to become responsible and ethical citizens. It emphasizes the importance of environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical decision-making.

It Promotes Continuous Learning

Learning never stops, and this is true for entrepreneurship education. It instills the drive to learn and keeps you on your game. Continuous learning focuses on different areas. As a result, undergraduates learn skills for every aspect of a venture. They can apply their knowledge to various roles and become more business agile. The course teaches how to recognize opportunities and leverage their creativity.

Conclusion

Our brain is creative to solve many complex life problems. But it requires various tweaks to achieve its full potential. Entrepreneurship education helps students simplify things. It helps them think outside the box in a changing environment. The program will break paths, set trends, and encourage students to make the world a better place. Nurturing business skills in school prepares them for an uncertain future. It also gives hope to everyone, including unborn generations.

Robots, wellness and kindness – Generation Alpha’s 2033 vision for work unveiled at international property event in Cannes

0

A special film commissioned by NOMA, capturing the hopes, expectations, and dreams of a group of young Mancunians imagining the world of work in 2033 was premiered today at the global property event MIPIM in Cannes, France.

The film, featuring 25 young people from St James’ Primary School, in Rusholme, Manchester, opened a forward-facing panel discussion called ‘Future proofed investment: Can Manchester deliver for Generation Alpha? Imagining 2033.’

Joining Dan Hyde, Development Director for MEPC at NOMA on the panel were: Becca Heron, Strategic Director of Growth & Development at Manchester City Council, Rachel Haugh, Co-Founding Partner at architects SimpsonHaugh, Jane Healy Brown, Director at Arup and David Hilton, Business Development Director at MIDAS.

Dan Hyde said: “Hearing from the young people about how they think they will interact with their city when they start work was fascinating and instructive. While we expected a few ‘out there’ ideas like teleportation hubs and robots delivering snacks to workers throughout the day, it was great to see how important being part of a supportive, kind, and collaborative community in the office was to them.

“It was clear from the pupils that sustainability, health, and wellness are now essential and expected too.

“Given Manchester’s MIPIM 2023 theme is ‘Generation Manchester’, we thought it was only right to hear from the people who, in 10-15 years’ time will be working in the city and playing a part in its future success.”

Dan adds: “At NOMA we are investing for the long-term and building a vibrant, diverse and welcoming neighbourhood based on putting people at the heart of everything we do.

“As we prepare to complete 4 Angel Square – our pioneering new flagship office building – we’ve naturally spent a lot of time thinking about the future needs of our occupiers, which is why the design of the space is so flexible and user friendly, complementing our commitment to sustainability.”
