FOREVER MANCHESTER CHRISTMAS GIFT SHOP OPENS IN THE CORN EXCHANGE

Gift shop set for five week stay in run up to festive period, aiming to raise £25k for charities.

Manchester’s historic Corn Exchange is set to be home to the Forever Manchester Gift shop for a second year, during the run up to Christmas, as it aims to raise £25k for local community activities across Greater Manchester.

The shop, full of amazing gifts, all with a Manchester twist, is set to open its doors this Saturday 12th November and will remain open until 18th December. With unique gifts perfect for family and friends, visitors to our great city or anyone who has a love of all things ‘manc’, The shop is a true oasis. Better still, all the profits go to Forever Manchester the only charity that supports and funds community activity across the whole of Greater Manchester.

The shop will stock best sellers from the Forever Manchester collection ranging from Christmas cards, to homewares and art.

One of its best selling ranges is ‘This is The Place’ featuring the now famous poem commissioned by Forever Manchester from local poet Tony Walsh. Today, the poem is synonymous with Manchester and the resilience of its people. Forever Manchester has exclusive goods featuring the poem on coasters, postcards and limited edition prints designed by renowned Manchester designer Trevor Johnson.

On Thursday 17th November, from 5 til 7pm, Tony Walsh will be in the Forever Manchester shop at the Corn Exchange, signing copies of the limited edition ‘This is the Place’ print, which will be for sale in the shop that evening.

As well as the range of exclusive Manchester gift ideas available to buy there is also the chance to buy Captain Manchester’s Magical festive tombola tickets at just £5 online or instore. The special festive edition of the monthly tombola gives entrants the chance to win £2000 in time for Christmas. Captain Manchester will draw the winning ticket on December 16th at the shop. There will also be a ‘golden ticket’ that wins £500 – this will be announced on Boxing Day.

It’s the second year that Forever Manchester has located its Christmas Gift shop at the Corn Exchange, who have kindly donated the space to the charity for the five weeks’ duration.

Situated at the Corn Exchange on Fennel Street, in between Doner Haus and Escape Hunt, the Forever Manchester Gift shop will be at the heart of this bustling destination amongst the Christmas Markets, Skate Manchester Ice Rink and the Corn Exchange itself with its array of food, drink and entertainment options with something to suit everyone.

Dan Davis, General Manager at the Corn Exchange said: “We are really pleased we could offer the space again to Forever Manchester this year. It is a charity that we have supported for a number of years. There are some fantastic gift ideas for Christmas and the store really adds to the Corn Exchange’s festive atmosphere.”

Liz Page from Forever Manchester said: “ We are excited to open our doors again at the Corn Exchange this year in the lead up to Christmas. We would like to thank the team for their ongoing support. It truly is a fantastic historic location in the heart of the city.

“Last year was great and this year we envisage even more customers as restrictions are no more and we can meet up with family and friends. We are looking to raise £25k to go towards community activities across our city.

“There is literally something for everyone who loves Manchester in our store. If you can’t decide on what to go for, why not buy your friends or family members a Captain Manchester’s festive Magical Tombola ticket at just £5 – if they win £2000 – you will be popular this Christmas!”

Forever Manchester Corn Exchange is open from 12th November through to 18th December.
