Royal Ascot Day 2 Tips

Kicking off day two is the Queen Mary Stakes race, which is one of the fastest of the day, the other one being the last race; both races are only five furlongs long. One memorable win in this race was Lady Aurelia in 2016.

Following this race is the Kensington Palace race, which is just shy of two miles at one mile, seven furlongs and two hundred and thirteen yards. This is run by both mares and fillies aged four.

The third race of the day is the Duke of Cambridge Stakes, which is a race for older fillies and mares (aged 4+). This race is the same distance as the Queen Anne Stake that is run on day one; both races are one straight mile. Some previous winners of this race are Sir Micheal Stoute, Andre Fabre, Jean Claude and John Gosden.

Next up is the Prince of Wales’s Stakes; this race attracts many top-quality horses and is often the most valuable race of the event. Last year the prize fund sat at a whopping £1 million. This race is one mile and two furlongs long.

After this race comes the Royal Hunt Cup which is one of the trickiest to predict at it; the race with the largest field size of 30 runners in total.

The Queen’s Vase is next; this is another race just under two miles. This race usually acts as a guide to the Gold Cup racers in the following years. It was previously the Queen’s picks; Estimate, Leading Light and Stradivarius won this race and later ran in the Gold Cup.

The last race of the day is the Windsor Castle Stakes; this race is the other fastest race of the day, being only five furlongs in distance.

Conclusion

Overall, day two should be just as exciting as day one; with some of the best horses out there racing, it will not only be thrilling but also unpredictable and unforgettable. Each year offers a unique experience. Watchers and bettors can enjoy long and short races, a range of promotions and specialised betting odds.
