Slater Heelis Increases size of HR team with two new recruits

Manchester and Sale-based law firm, Slater Heelis, has bolstered its existing HR team with the appointment of two new employees.

Komal Iqbal and Kat Healy have joined the firm as HR Administrator and Talent & Development Manager respectively, working alongside the existing complement of HR professionals.

With ambitions to reach a 250 headcount this year – the firm’s 250th anniversary – the team is prepared for a busy year and the additions to the HR team will allow further focus on new initiatives, enhanced L&D offerings, and EDI commitments, at the same time as supporting its growing headcount across the firm.

Komal, a Manchester Metropolitan University graduate, has experience working for a law firm and Kat brings with her a wealth of experience garnered across both public and private sector posts.

Phil Rimmer, Chief People Officer at Slater Heelis, said: “In addition to managing a significant period of growth since September 2021, our HR department is responsible for overseeing a number of initiatives, including our Wellness & Wellbeing agenda recently recognised at the British HR Awards with a highly commended award.

“Alongside our continual recruitment and the plans we have around L&D, Komal and Kat will be assisting our existing team with our charitable, corporate and community programmes and have joined the business at an exciting time.  Komal is due to commence maternity leave in July and we wish her well, but despite a candidate driven market we have acted quickly to recruit Jenna Moran who we look forward to welcoming to covering Komal’s leave and supporting us into 2024.

“Marking 250 years is a landmark achievement and, whilst it’s a time for reflection, we’re not standing still, but focusing on the future and by strengthening our HR offerings with two new colleagues we’re well placed to deliver over the coming months what we have set out to achieve.”
