Flinn Dolman, Co-founder & Chief Data Officer at Lawhive, shared his insight on the findings, highlighting the significance of exploring online platforms to find more affordable remote solicitors. He emphasised that living in high-cost areas like London does not necessarily mean exorbitant divorce prices, as individuals now have the option to engage with solicitors nationwide through online channels, enabling them to discover competitive rates and save money in the process.

The research conducted by Lawhive involved meticulous data collection from solicitors in the 50 largest cities and towns in the UK, based on population figures from the Office for National Statistics. A minimum of three quotes were obtained from solicitors in each city, resulting in an average of 3.5 quotes per city. All quotes specifically pertained to divorce services.

Consumer advice urges individuals to consider solicitors beyond their local area. With the convenience of online access, people can engage remotely with solicitors across the country, potentially finding more competitive rates and saving hundreds of pounds in the process.
