For Ireland, this is a must-win game following a run of four defeats in their last five internationals. The only win during that time came against Gibraltar, and they also lost 2-1 away at Greece earlier in June. A loss in this fixture would confirm a fourth successive missed international tournament for the Boys in Green. As for Greece, they have won three of their five qualifiers so far and are level on points with second-placed Netherlands, albeit who have a game in hand. With the Netherlands hosting group leaders France on Friday evening, the door could be open for Greece to leapfrog Ronald Koeman’s team in Group B.
