NEW BUSINESS AND TEAM MEMBERS FOR ABSOLUTE

Bolton based agency Absolute has been appointed by Edge Hill University, following a four-way tender process.

The integrated creative agency has been tasked to devise and deliver the campaign for the university’s 2022 student recruitment drive.

The new business win comes as Absolute is expanding its team, with four new hires made in the last month.

Managing Director, Chris Hodgen, says: “Edge Hill University joins our roster of higher education clients past and present including York St John, Keele University and the University of Manchester. It’s a sector we enjoy working with as the teams are always so collaborative.

“The ways in which universities recruit has had to change massively this year, and we’ll be taking that into account with the campaign and creative.”

Based on an award-winning 160-acre campus in Ormskirk, Edge Hill has been providing higher education since 1885, with a mission to create opportunity from knowledge.

Rebecca Montgomery, Head of Recruitment Marketing from Edge Hill says: “In the current climate, it’s more important than ever that we’re able to stand out in a crowded marketplace. Absolute presented some really creative ideas that aligned with the Edge Hill brand and we’re excited to be working with them to develop the concept for our 2022 campaign.”

Edge Hill University follows other recent new business wins for the Horwich based agency, including Carrs Pasties and global health company Vernacare.

To help deliver its growing number of accounts, Absolute has made four new hires to strengthen its team.

Katie Leach has joined as Senior Account Manager; Shelley Wood, previously Client Services Manager at Music joins as Studio Manager, and Rob Clayton and Sam Donlan as Senior Creative and Creative respectively.

The Edge Hill appointment comes on the back of a recent award win for Absolute for its work for York St John University. They took Gold for Best Website in this year’s Heist Awards, celebrating excellence and innovation in education marketing. It’s the second time Absolute has been recognised for its higher education work, having picked up Gold in the same category in 2019 for its website for Keele University.
