A site manager working at Bellway’s Barton Quarter development on Chorley New Road in Horwich has received a prestigious National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job award.
Danny McCarron received the award for excellence in on site management at Barton Quarter, a development of stylish three and four bedroom homes.
Danny, who has worked for Bellway for 10 years, has won the Pride in the Job award twice previously.
The NHBC Pride in the Job award, which has been established for over 40 years, recognises and rewards the industry’s very best performers and is an accolade that site managers aspire to achieve.
To receive an award, site managers must score highly in all areas of build and site management including quality of workmanship, technical expertise, health and safety and leadership. Judges are looking for meticulous attention to detail and the special qualities and attributes that set quality award winning site managers apart from the rest.
On receiving this award, Danny said: “Being recognised by the NHBC for excellence on site and delivering some of the highest quality homes is a great achievement. Having won the award previously, I know first-hand that you have to be totally committed, work hard, stick to your plan and never give up. As a keen runner who has competed internationally and completed eight marathons, the commitment and dedication that is required to run a marathon is similar to what is required to win the Pride in the Job award.
“The Pride in the Job award is a real team effort. I am very proud of the team at Barton Quarter and delighted they are getting the recognition they deserve for their hard work and for continually giving that bit extra.”
Construction director at Bellway, Paul Wright, adds: “Danny is an incredibly experienced site manager and has done an incredible job on site at Barton Quarter. This award is testament to his excellent standards, professional management style and clear leadership skills. Only 450 site managers across the UK (out of 11,000) are selected to receive a Pride in the Job award, so we are very proud of Danny for this achievement.”
