Shoppers in Manchester will be able to have their favourite Aldi products delivered to their door in as little as 30 minutes as part of a new partnership with Deliveroo.
The Ancoats, Arndale, Didsbury, Trafford and Altrincham Aldi stores are set to be amongst the first in the country to trial the new service, which will offer local residents a selection of more than 200 Aldi products at their fingertips via the Deliveroo app. This will include a range of essential items, such as bread, milk and fresh produce, which will be picked and packed by Aldi colleagues for delivery by Deliveroo’s network of riders.
The new on-demand service has been introduced to offer customers greater flexibility and access to affordable Aldi groceries.
The trial was initially launched at eight stores in the East Midlands, but was later extended to one store in Camden, London, and is now being rolled out to 11 more.
Among the stores now offering the service are five in Manchester that will launch next week. If successful, the rapid delivery service could roll out to further Aldi stores by the end of 2020.
Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “We hope the new trial with Deliveroo will provide more customers in Manchester with access to great quality food at Aldi’s unbeatable prices.
“This is a new and exciting venture for Aldi and we will be constantly reviewing how we can best serve our customers during these challenging times.”
